Shelly Gray, a resident of Punta Gorda, Florida, has been visiting the practice for about four or five years. Her father had nerve deafness, a condition passed on to all three of his daughters. One of Shelly’s sisters uses cochlear implants, while she and her older sister began using hearing aids at the age of 60.
Shelly recalls how she was pulled out of denial by a friend who pointed out that her speech had changed. Initially, Shelly was unaware of the problem, but her friend urged her to take action. After a year, Shelly had a hearing test, although she was hesitant at first, not wanting large, noticeable devices. Her friend then introduced her to Lyric hearing aids, which Shelly decided to try.
The first time she wore the Lyrics, Shelly was surprised to hear sounds she hadn’t noticed before, like the hum of the refrigerator. She also realized that she could lower the TV volume, and communication with her husband improved as she could finally understand him clearly, even when he spoke from another room.
Shelly speaks highly of Bill and his practice, praising their responsiveness and quality service. Whether it’s for repairs or assistance, she knows they are always available when needed.
Shelly notes that her life with others has improved significantly since she began using hearing aids. She is now able to hear conversations and interact more fully with those around her. In the past, if she missed something, she would stay quiet and withdraw. Now, she feels more engaged and social, and this is something she truly enjoys.
